![]() ![]() I have read up on command prompt online and tried various commands and there seems to be discrepancies between my laptop and what is written about windows 8.1 online. The other options on safe mode screen (light blue) have been of little use. The question is - How do I disable an antivirus from command prompt? That is about all I have at the moment in terms of accessability. I can't get into start menu and several restores have failed since. When I use command prompt I am told that the system is unable to find a file needed for booting and that it is probably being blocked by an antivirus program. My laptop restarted it froze up again and I have had to switch it off at the power. I went to delete avast and there was an option to repair the files, which I did and when I managed to do a system restore and disabled avast whilst in safe mode. When I rebooted, avast was automatically loaded and my laptop froze on please wait screen. When I downloaded avast the first time, after rebooting, I was told that the avast files were incomplete. I have downloaded avast free antivirus several times after previous problems with Kaspersky and a system repair program called smartpcfixer. I am having serious trouble with my laptop which is windows 8.1 Toshiba Satellite.
